District 379 was organized in 1984 with its Charter District Chairman, Josefina “Josie” Lolarga of Inner Wheel Club of Dagupan, eighteen years after the formation of the Association of the Inner Wheel Clubs in the Philippines.
Two of our oldest clubs, Inner Wheel Club of La Union and Inner Wheel Club of Dagupan formed part of the Association where its formation in June 1966 was held at Cresta Ola Resort in Bauang, La Union with Trinidad “Trining Legarda” as the Association’s Charter President. Past President Luzvimin “Min” Mendoza and Ising Nisce, both from IWC SFLU were Charter officers.
Last December 4, 2019 an Inner Wheel Lady was installed at the former Cresta Ola Resort, Bauang, La Union – the heritage site of the formation of the Association of the Inner Wheel Clubs of the Philippines. The Installation commemorates the 60th Diamond Anniversary of IWC – San Fernando La Union.
District 379 has produced three National Presidents – Mary Jane Ortega (IWC- Fernando La Union), Lilita Yuchongtian (IWC- Dagupan East) and Gregoria Villaflor (IWC – Dagupan).
As of October 15, 2020, there are eleven (11) active clubs with 154 members: IWC Central Pangasinan, IWC Dagupan, IWC Dagupan East, IWC Downtown Dagupan, IWC Malasiqui, IWC Mangatarem, IWC San Fernando La Union, IWC San Fernando La Union North, IWC Sta. Barbara, and two newly chartered clubs – IWC Clark and IWC Uptown Dagupan.
District Chairman Jeisela “Jei” B. Gaerlan is the 30th District Chairman of District 379.
