IWC Malasiqui Tree Planting Project

Inline with CLIMATE ACTION to combat climate change and its impacts, the Inner Wheel Club of Malasiqui, District 379 had its treee planting activity at the Senior Citizen’s Park in Barangay Tambac, Malasiqui, Pangasinan.

With the assistance of some residents led by their Barangay Captain, members planted fruit-bearing trees such as Tamarind, Santol (Sentul or Cottong Fruit), Guyabano (Soursop), Calamansi (Calamondin or Philippine lime) and Malunggay (Moringa), a vegetable also considered a herbal medicine for a number of illness and other practical uses.   

Tree Planting activity is part of the Ecology and Environment National Directed Project of IWCPI and the District’s response to one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals – LIFE ON LAND – to protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, halt and reverse land degradation and biodiversity loss.
